Editorial Policy

How PencilArt.app creates and maintains its guides.

PencilArt.app publishes practical tutorials for people who want to turn photos into pencil-style artwork. This page explains our content standards, review process, correction policy, and approach to responsible image use.

Narrow editorial focus

We publish guidance about photo-to-pencil conversion, image preparation, printing, framing, and practical uses for sketch-style artwork.

Original explanations

Articles are written for PencilArt.app readers and are based on real decisions people make when preparing portraits, pet photos, keepsakes, and wall art.

Updates and corrections

We revise articles when a workflow changes, a reader reports unclear advice, or a better recommendation would make the guide more accurate.

Responsible image use

Tutorials avoid encouraging rights violations. Readers are advised to use photos they own or have permission to edit, print, and share.

What We Cover

Our content is intentionally specific. We write about selecting source photos, improving sketch quality, choosing a pencil style, preparing old family photos, creating pet portraits, printing finished sketches, and planning wall art. We avoid broad generic AI-art articles unless they directly help readers make better pencil-style images.

How Articles Are Reviewed

Before a guide is published, we check that it has a clear audience, practical steps, original wording, and advice that matches the PencilArt.app workflow. We review whether the article helps a reader solve a specific problem, such as reducing background clutter, choosing a better crop, or preparing a sketch for matte paper.

AI and Example Images

PencilArt.app uses AI to transform photos into pencil-style artwork, and the site may show generated examples to explain the product. We do not present generated examples as hand-drawn commissions. When giving advice, we focus on observable quality factors such as lighting, edges, resolution, subject clarity, tone, and final print use.

Blog covers use free stock photographs from Pexels. Each article credits its photographer and links to the source and licence. Cover photographs illustrate the topic and are separate from the product's generated examples. AI may assist with drafting explanations. We identify publisher comparisons as such and avoid rankings without a documented test method. Recommendations should explain the choices a reader can evaluate for their own file.

Publication Dates and Revisions

Publication dates describe when a guide first appeared. A separate updated date marks a substantive change to its advice; we do not change the publication date to make older material appear new.

October 4, 2026

  • Five guides were added about photographing paper artwork, image formats, pencil techniques, A4/A3 print margins and matching portrait sets.
  • All blog cover illustrations were replaced with licensed stock photographs, with photographer credits and source links.
  • The studio guide now describes the current pencil presets, settings and download checks.
  • The older top-ten tool ranking was replaced with a comparison worksheet and a publisher disclosure.
  • The printing guide now explains pixel density and links to the free print planner.
  • The pet and gift guides now use the current style names.
  • The introductory articles now distinguish visible AI effects from model internals and include a timed drawing exercise.

Corrections and Reader Feedback

Readers can report unclear guidance, outdated details, accessibility issues, or privacy questions by emailing samuelaidoo45@gmail.com. We review correction requests and update pages when a change improves accuracy, transparency, or usefulness.

Advertising and Independence

Advertising is currently paused. If ads appear on PencilArt.app, they do not determine our tutorial recommendations. We do not place ads on private dashboard pages, sign-in screens, or public utility pages that do not contain enough publisher-created content. Ads are limited to public pages where they can appear alongside original site content.
